Baudha Protest 08 May 2009 – Images by Rene Edde There are days, I have come to realize, that are all about lesson learning and experiences. May 05, 2009 — Kathmandu, Nepal — Members of Nepal’s CPN(M) (Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)) take to the streets in a rally in Ratna Park on Tuesday evening. Following the news of the resignation of the prime minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, known as Prachanda, the communist party of Nepal is getting rallied [...] My journey thorugh India and to Nepal was easy going and uneventful. I am back at the IBA safe and sound. Sirensongs is still making it work in Nepal. Blogging about her life and dancing her time away. I always look forward to her postings and today’s was great and full of information (as usual). That’s just life here, at least for me. I came to get a visa, I stayed to study Charya Nitra and in [...] Tonight here in the NW Burbs of Chicago the sky is pretty clear. I can see the stars. But, I looked up and saw Orion’s belt with the sword hanging. I couldn’t help but have a memory… a flashback of sorts. Tonight at a hotel in Kathmandu I will be starting up the Obamathon here in Nepal. I have about 4 days of shoots and photos to process, audio to edit, etc. But for now I thought that I would pop up this photo just to show you all why it is that I love my life so much these days! For two days I took the coolest field trip of my life. I was lucky to be able to join the Pokhara monks on a pilgrimage to various places around Derha Dun. We loaded up the 26 kids, their Lama Kunga, one of their teachers, and a sponsor, and Jane, Allison, and I joined them [...] For so many reasons, as I leave Kathmandu, I feel as if a piece of me is left behind. But as sad as that may seem, within it I find comfort that I know that I will return some day, possibly sooner rather than later. |
